The Scoundrel class covers a mix of thieves, con men, charming rogues, thugs, and basically any character that makes his way on his wits and doesn't care to much which side of the law he walks on. Scoundrel Character ClassMechanics
Starting Feats for Scoundrels
Scoundrels and Abilities The core book lists Dex and Int as the most important abilities for a scoundrel, because they help him survive the trouble he so often lands in. Charisma and Wisdom as also useful for avoiding trouble, or talking his way out of it. If a scoundrel needs to rely on Strength and Constitution, he is probably in the wrong line of work. It would be possible for a scoundrel to rely more on Charisma and Wisdom, to avoid trouble, with Dex and Int being secondary. However, avoiding trouble rather negates the point of being a scoundrel. After all, avoiding trouble is what the masses do, not a man who wants to make his own way in the world. The low starting hit points, and hit point increase each level does make a low Con potentially concerning, but proper selection of Feats and Talents, and a decent Dex, will give a Scoundrel the ability to get out of the way and not get hit. Scoundrel Class Talent Trees Scoundrel's have four talent trees: The Fortune Talent tree reflects the luck that seems to come a scoundrel's rescue just when he needs it most. These talents give luck bonus to roles, the knack to get things right, whether or not the character should know how, and an advantage at the gambling table. The Talents on this tree can only benefit the character. The Misfortune Talent tree is all about dealing with enemies. As in: "misfortune to my enemies". Every Talent on this tree is about doing something in combat that will the character's enemies truly unhappy. A scoundrel's bag of sneak attacks, taking away enemies bonuses, and knowing how throw enemies off balance all come out of the Misfortune tree. Some scoundrel's don't get out much, they like to make their mark quietly, from a small room and an impressive motherboard. The Slicer Talent tree is for them, and any scoundrel that likes to hack networks, trick alarm systems, and generally get into trouble with computer systems. The Spacer Talent tree is all about getting by in the space lanes. Especially since scoundrel's so often run a-foul of patrol ships. These Talents give scoundrels and advantage in ship to ship combat. Bonus Feats for the Scoundrel Character Class The Scoundrel class has a list of 12 Feats available as bonus Feats.
