Every Star Wars Saga Edition Character Class has it's own advantages and disadvantages. The Noble class is light on combat capability, but strong leaders.
The Star Wars Saga Edition Noble character class is something of a catch all class for any character who is a leader, or has political or economic power. Crime lords, senators, business owners, generals, and actual aristocracy will generally all have at least one rank of the Noble character class. Here is a brief run down what a Noble in Star Wars Saga Edition has to work with: Noble Character ClassMechanics
Noble Class Starting Feats
Noble Character Class Abilities The Star Wars Saga Edition core book lists Charisma as the most important ability for Nobles, followed by Intelligence and Wisdom. Starting with a higher Intelligence is necessary to get the starting Feat Linguist. At character gen, Linguist effectively doubles the number of languages a character knows, so making the effort to keep Int high can be well worth it. Dexterity and Strength are not considered important for Nobles, since they are not expected to be strong combat characters. The core book does not seem to think Con is important for nobles, but keeping it at least average, preferably higher is probably a good idea. The Noble character class has the lowest starting hit points, along with Scoundrels, and only raises hit point by 1d6 +Con modifier each level. Just because the class is not meant to be combat heavy, does not mean you don't want your character to survive any combat they end up in. Noble Class Talent Trees The Noble character class has 4 Talent trees available. The Influence Talent tree give a noble character the ability to overwhelm enemies with sheer force of personality, possibly even causing them to surrender or flee. These Talents can only be used in combat, and target enemies. The Inspiration Talent tree contains Talents that can only be used on a Noble character's allies. These are all mind affecting talents that improve the allies combat ability. The Leadership Talent tree is very similar to the Inspiration Talent tree, containing Talents that can only affect allies, and that give allies a boost in combat. The difference (in theory) is that the effect of the Inspirational Talent tree is the result of the Noble characters personality, and the affect of the Leadership Talent tree is the result of her leadership ability. The Lineage Talent tree is the only Talent tree that directly benefits the noble. The Lineage Talent tree basically covers all the things a Noble character gets just for being a Noble: Wealth, Education, Connections, that sort of thing. Noble Character Class Bonus Feats The Noble class has access to just over ten bonus Feats, picking up one every other level. Noble Class Starting Credits Nobles get 3d4 X 400 starting credits. The Wealth Talent of the Lineage Talent tree is worth considering very seriously. 5000 X Noble Class level in credits at every new character level is not easy to pass up.
