Question: What does a radar, racecar, and kayak all have in a common?
Answer: They are all palindromes: words spelled the same forwards and backwards. They are also items on my Christmas list this year. Please send any donations or suggestions for puzzles, games, and trivia to gamestrivia@suite101.com. But how do they relate to time travel? They vaguely do as words that travel the same back in forth across the page (Just heard a lot of browsers close).

Puzzle:
John Carpenter wants to make one more Halloween, but he has many problems. Dimension Films wants him to replace Dr. Loomis with Dr. Phil, whose life changing influence is considered much more powerful and marketable (and non-coincidentally, annoying). Filming takes place in the Malibu Canyons and now Carpenter has to cross Malibu Creek along with his principal actors. He found a boat, but it only fits 2 people at a time. None of the stars can touch the water or else they will melt, and there is no bridge in sight although the water is only two feet deep. If Carpenter leaves Dr. Phil alone with Michael Myers, he will talk and talk until Myers gives up his killing spree before the filming has even begun. But if he leaves Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) alone with Myers, no doubt he will be tempted to kill her before the camera starts rolling. Only Carpenter has the director’s bullhorn, therefore the ability to separate the therapist from the killer, and the killer from his long desired victim.
How can Carpenter get his actors across the creek without losing any of them to sanity or death?
Solution: Carpenter first takes Myers across the creek. He returns and picks up Dr. Phil who he ignores as he criticizes his paddling. Reaching the side with Myers, he drops off Dr. Phil and brings back Myers. He swaps Myers for Jamie Lee and drops her off with Dr. Phil. Finally, he picks up Myers and the group makes their way to the set. The film is a hit, Dr. Phil wins an Oscar, and the 4 Horsemen mosey into a little town called Hollywood.

Question 1: The lead of this film was originally cursed by a ex-girlfriend but the final script has his time dilemma unexplained, that is until he finds a new girlfriend, although it takes some major convincing. This happens when you tell her, “I am a god. Not the God. I don’t think.”
Answer 1: Groundhog Day (1993) directed by Harold Ramis who wrote Meatballs (1979), Caddyshack (1980), Stripes (1981), and both Ghostbusters (1984 & 1989), all featuring Bill Murray proving that the 80s were a good decade for the two. Bill was trying to convince Andie McDowell, who plays his co-worker, Rita, that he is stuck in time.

Question 6: Although not a movie and not one that contains time travel, this television show featured a family that dealt with everyday problems like dinosaurs and the Sleestak. Don’t be surprised though, this show is being made into a film, starring Will Ferrell.
Answer 6: Land of the Lost (1974-1976). Clearly there was some trouble finding a movie dealing with time travel starting with the letter L, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
