Answers to the last word puzzle that scrambled the letters over easy.
Here is the original puzzle for all your search engine artists. I salute you.
Now as for the answers, I had originally stated there is "only one correct solution to the entire puzzle." And for that, I am sorry because that's the second lie of this article already.
I will include the original solution I had, plus some reader submitted solutions.
That's what happens when you are dealing with anagrams, or word trivia/word games in general. Please be careful.
The original puzzle's answer:
One reader's solution:
Also number 3 and 9 can be swapped for REDS + A = DEARS and STIR + S = STIRS although STIRS wouldn't be an anagram perse, but who's counting anyway.
If you have more answers, please email me so I can post them.
And now to finish the letter to my landlord....
Bedroom 3-door-lock broken- $20
This is true, the lock is broken. However, it was my lock that I bought and had installed. The installation was shoddy as one only needed to shake the door enough to unlock it. Thus the lock was removed. The failed installation is still evident by the plate that receives the lock, which was improperly screwed in, not allowing the lock to securely rest into the plate.
Basement-lots of junk, boxes, paint etc- 3yds X $40 = $120.
This is ridiculous. Most of the junk in the basement was not ours. There were posters, one large umbrella, one road sign, and a box with ‘Colin Edelman’ written on it, but beyond these items, everything was there when we had moved in. More so, we had requested at the beginning of the term lease to have these extra things removed but were refused because “the garage is intended for storage of the realtor only.” The paint is the most glaring example of property that was originally in the basement upon arrival therefore not our responsibility to throw away.
Summary:
1) City of Ann Arbor street signs- $80- This is an additional charge over the basement charges? This is unacceptable. As noted previously, only one of these signs was ours.
2) Two sofas trashed- The sofas’ condition went from poor to horrible over the course of the year due to normal wear and tear. The actual tear on the sofa end gradually grew until it reached its final horrific state. Furthermore, a tenant left a couch which could be considered a replacement.
3) Front porch light globe missing- $30- There never was a globe on the porch.
4) Upstairs globe missing- $30. The globe was removed to replace a light bulb and then placed in bedroom 1.
The following charges will remain uncontested:
Living Room- Blind Broken $30
Bedroom 1- screen gone $30
Summary- 1) ceiling damage above stairs- 2 holes x $20 = $40
2) missed rent- $1
Thus we believe the total owed to The Money Theives Inc. should be $101, as opposed to the $510 originally charged. As a result, a check for $409 should be issued to its former tenants. We hope to hear from you on this matter as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Colin Edelman
